My Inspirations

My love of Interior Design, Decorative Accents, Furniture, and Fabric began at an early age while working with my artistic and creative mother. My mother was a successful antique dealer, craft artisan, and a gifted artist of oils and pastels. My eye for design developed while helping her with her antiques, art projects and stenciling furniture.

My father and his gang of Connecticut gentry were quintessential outdoors Ralph Lauren and had a huge effect on my eye for design. Ralph Lauren is one of my all-time favorite designers both in fashion and interiors.

My father was a highly skilled hunter and fly fisherman in the English tradition. He raised English Setters, crafted his own rifles, and hand tied his own flies for fishing. I remember fondly the décor of knotty pine hunting lodges, LL Bean clothing, fishing equipment, jeeps, and meals of pheasant, wood cock, and venison.

A WW II war hero, my Dad was an engineer, master of history, photography, gardening, and fluent in the French language. His life was rich in color, hobbies, and books.

My love for Coastal Design I contribute to my grandparents. They owned a weathered shingled cottage on Bass River, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Row boating, clamming, wicker chairs, wild beach roses, and salt air filled my summer days. Their main home was 1950’s modern with a mixture of heirloom antiques and plush oriental rugs. Family and home meant everything to them which they loved sharing with the grandchildren. This instilled in me the importance of family and making a home.
